OKC Thunder vs Denver Nuggets Picks
Thunder vs Nuggets pick: Thunder -5 (-110)
It was a resounding no-doubt win for OKC in Game 2, building a 24-point lead after the first quarter, running up 87 points by halftime and leading by as many as 49 in a 149-106 blowout.
That was the sort of response the West’s top seed needed to show, after it was stunned in Game 1, blowing an 11-point lead with 4:30 left in the game to lose by two, courtesy an Aaron Gordon killshot triple with 2.8 seconds remaining.
Now, the Thunder try to build on that as the scene shifts to the Rockies. OKC was the West’s top road team, piling up a 32-8 record in the regular season. They’re 2-0 on the road so far in these playoffs.
The Thunder are being carried by the highest scoring offense in the playoffs, putting up 124.7 points per game, which masks that they allow the third-most points of any team still standing in the postseason.

Denver got the much-needed split in OKC, but they’ll need a big bounce back at home after getting thrashed. Denver shot just 37.9% from the field in Game 2 and were in extended garbage time before halftime.
Defensively, the Nuggets allowed the Thunder to shoot 56.2% from the field, and a crisp 44.4% from 3-point range. They are the worst-scoring defense left in the postseason, allowing a whopping 114 points per game.
They’ll need to do a better job protecting the ball, as Denver coughed it up 21 times, which the Thunder converted to 34 big points. Denver is turning it over better than 15 times per game, also currently last of the eight teams still standing.

While I’m almost certain Nikola Jokic bounces back in a big way, I think the Thunder’s attention is fully into this series, and they’re about to flex their top-seeded muscle in Denver.
Jokic should keep it close, but look for the Thunder to pull away in the second half. They’ve won three of their last four at Ball Arena, with all wins coming by double digits.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed out in Game 2 with a game-high 33 points, and while I think he’ll be prominent again Friday, I think it’s all-star teammate Jalen Williams who makes his first big splash in this series.
Williams had 17 points in a light night of work last game, taking just 11 shots in 26 minutes, but he’s trending upwards, and I don’t see him scoring sub-20 points for a third straight game.
That’s because it happened in the regular season just once this year, a stretch of three games from Dec 31 to Jan 2.
Williams was OKC’s most consistent option against Memphis in Round 1, averaging 23.3 points in the series and hitting the 20-point plateau every game, topping his 22.5 line set for Friday three times. I’m banking on him making it a fourth in Game 3.
Clippers vs Nuggets player prop bet: Williams Over 21.5 points (-120)
