The AT&T Byron Nelson is the last tune-up before the PGA Championship. A lot of the big names haven’t teed it up much since last month’s Masters, but seven of the top-15 are competing this go around. That includes reigning Masters winner and tournament favorite Scottie Scheffler, along with Justin Thomas, who is searching for his first victory this season.
This is just the second year that TPC at Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas is the venue. K.H. Lee won by three strokes last season at 25-under-par, amid soggy Sunday conditions. This championship has been something of a breeding ground for first-time champions, with Lee, Sung Kang and Aaron Wise the last three winners, each making this their maiden title.

Sam Burns Playing Great Golf
Sam Burns enters this championship with the sixth shortest odds to claim the trophy. An argument could be made that he should have shorter than the +2200 odds to win, given his recent play and also course history.
Burns won three starts ago at the Valspar Championship, then nearly notched another title in his latest outing, where he was runner-up at the Zurich Classic. That was also the case last year at the AT&T Byron Nelson, as he held the 54-hole lead. He was surpassed on the final day, resulting in a second place showing. His ‘strokes gained’ stats for that week were unsurprisingly very solid.

A really poor Saturday during awful conditions saw him tumbling down the board, winding up in tie for 15th. The event prior to that he was T-10th at the Zurich Classic. Earlier in the season he finished a shot out of a playoff at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Kevin Kisner (+10000): Phenomenal odds for a golfer that can get hot in a hurry. Kevin Kisner is a perfect boom or bust type candidate, as he’s had two outstanding tournaments in his last five individual events. Kisner was the runner-up at the Dell Match Play and fourth at the Players Championship.
