Golf’s elite return to Oak Hill Country Club this week for the PGA Championship, the season’s second major. This course has gone through an extensive redesign since it last hosted a Major in 2013, and is expected to be a gruelling test.
Word on the grounds suggest Oak Hill is going to play very long and be extremely punishing for wayward drives and approaches. The greens are small and the bunkers are treacherous, which will demand a masterful short game in order to compete.
As a result, total driving, long iron play and short game will be key components for how we determine who is most likely to make and miss the cut. Odds for the majority of the game’s top names are below, see keep reading for their prices as well as targets in this market.

To no one’s surprise, Masters champ Jon Rahm has the shortest odds to make the weekend. He’s followed by pre-tournament favorite Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay, the ladder of which is still looking for his first Major Championship win.

Lowry a Likely Trunk Slam Candidate
For starters, the Irishman enters in underwhelming form. He’s gone missed cut, 67th in his previous two starts, losing a combined 5.7 total strokes to the field in those events. Of particular concern is his short game. Lowry has bled strokes on and around the greens lately, losing a combined 7.9 shots at the Heritage and another 2.7 at Wells Fargo.

Dating back to last year’s BMW Championship, Lowry has lost strokes putting in nine of 10 starts. Players are going to need to make plenty of eight to 10 foot par saving putts each day at Oak Hill, which spells trouble for Lowry.
Also working against him is his lousy recent ball striking numbers. Lowry ranks 53rd in strokes gained off-the-tee over his last 12 measured rounds and 55th on approach. Naturally his scoring has suffered, as he checks in ranked 111th in that category.

Make the Cut Parlay
While we’re fading Lowry at the PGA Championship, there are plenty of golfers that are worthy targets for our make the cut parlay – price considered.
Among our favorites is Gary Woodland, who’s put on a ball striking clinic in his last two starts. Woodland gained over 9 strokes ball striking at both Wells Fargo and in Mexico, and was positive around the greens. He’s a former Major Champ and has strung together six straight made cuts.
Speaking of Major champs, two more will join our parlay in the form of Keegan Bradley and Matthew Fitzpatrick. Bradley, the 2011 PGA Championship winner, excels on long, difficult, North East courses just like Oak Hill. He went to college nearby and has four top-11 results on similar tracks over the last four years.
Fitzpatrick meanwhile, has always been an accurate player with an excellent short game, but he’s recently added some major distance to his game. That helped propel him to a U.S. Open Championship last year, and will serve him well this week.
We’ll round out our parlay with Tommy Fleetwood, who has been a statistical darling lately. Fleetwood ranks top-18 in ball striking, strokes gained off-the-tee, tee-to-green and around the green over the last 12 rounds, posting three top-15 finishes over four starts.
