After back-to-back birdie fests to begin 2026, the PGA Tour heads to Torrey Pines for the first real test of the season. The Farmers Insurance Open routinely plays as one of the toughest annual Tour stops, with the average winning score barely cracking double-digits under par.

This week’s field features nine of the top-20 ranked players in the world, headlined by Xander Schauffele, but more importantly marks the official return to the PGA Tour for Brooks Koepka.

2026 Farmers Insurance Open Odds

GolferOdds
Xander Schauffele +1300
Ludvig Aberg +1650
Cameron Young +1800
Si Woo Kim +2250
Patrick Cantlay +2300
J.J. Spaun +2400
Harris English +2600
Hideki Matsuyama +2800
Keegan Bradley +2900
Chris Gotterup +3000
Maverick McNealy +3000
Jason Day +3200
Alex Noren +3700
Taylor Pendrith +4000
Jake Knapp +4100
Adam Scott +4400
Rasmus Hojgaard +4500
Michael Thorbjornsen +4600
Wyndham Clark +4800
Brooks Koepka +5300

Koepka is the first high profile name to come crawling back after bolting to join LIV, and he’s sure to be one of the most followed players on site.

Schauffele checks in as the betting favorite +1300, followed closely behind by Ludvig Aberg. The Swede was the first round leader here last year before withdrawing with an illness. A couple weeks later, he won the Genesis Open at Torrey Pines, when the Tour was forced to return with Riviera in unplayable shape.

Last 5 Farmers Insurance Open Winners

YearWinner
2025 Harris English (-8)
2024 Mattieu Pavon (-13)
2023 Max Homa (-13)
2022 Luke List (-15)
2021 Patrick Reed (-14)

Despite Aberg’s impressive play at this venue a year ago, I’ll start my betting card a little lower on the odds board. I won’t be touching Kopeka at his current price, but if his number starts to dip into the 60-1 range I won’t be able to resist at least a sprinkle on the five-time Major Champ.

Farmers Insurance Picks

Jason Day to Win (+3200 at DraftKings)

Two things stand out when it comes to making an outright selection here. First, course history. 14 of the past 17 winners have posted at least one top-10 at this event prior to winning. The second, is strokes gained off the tee. Bombers have a clear advantage at the 7,700+ yard Torrey Pines South track, but you can still make hay and win if you’re gaining off the tee with pin point accuracy.

My favorite Farmers Insurance Open pick this week is Jason day. The 38-year-old has turned his game around in the last few years, and has phenomenal history at this tournament.

Day’s won the Farmers Insurance Open twice, while also posting a runner up and third place result. He has seven career top-10’s in 16 appearances, and just finished second last week at the American Express.

Day led the field in putting last week, while ranking third in birdies. He also checks the box in the strokes gained off the tee metric, ranking 11th in the field in that category over the last 100 rounds.

Farmers Insurance Bets Bets

Jake Knapp to Win (+4100): As for my Farmers Insurance best bets, it’s hard to go wrong with Jake Knapp. The blond bomber ranks eighth in strokes gained off the tee over the last 50 rounds in this field, and finished third at this event in 2024. He’s also won in Mexico, at a course that profiles similarly to Torrey Pines. Knapp’s season is off to a strong start with a T-11 in Hawaii, and I’d also strongly consider betting him in the T-10 and T-20 markets.

Nicolai Hojgaard to Win (+6300): I actually like both Hojgaard’s in the outright market, but Nicolai is my favorite. He hits the ball a mile and finished T-2 here two years ago. The Dane posted four top-15’s on Tour last season, and just finished fourth over the weekend in Dubai at the DP World Tour stop.
