Prop #1: Mastering the Wildcats

Ohio State running back Master Teague III has gone off every other week this season. He ran for 110 yards in Game two against Penn State, and was good for a career-high 169 yards two games later when facing Indiana.

Based on that pattern, he’s due to launch this week, which is bad news for Northwestern. It’s a good time to play the over on his rushing yardage totals, however.

Last season, Teague carried the ball just seven times in the game against the Wildcats. But he gained 96 yards. That works out to 13.7 yards per carry.

Pick: Master Teague III over 69.5 yards rushing (-113)

Prop #2: Ramsey Running Into a Wall

Wildcats quarterback Peyton Ramsey tied a season high in Northwestern’s win over Maryland, rushing for 47 yards. He also scampered for 47 yards in the season-opening win over Illinois.

He came to Northwestern with a rep as a mobile quarterback when he transferred from Indiana. Ramsey ran for seven TDs in his last season with the Hoosiers.

Ohio State has defended the run well. The Buckeyes allow just 95 yards per game on the ground. That ranks them as the #6 run defense in the nation.

However, mobile QBs have proven effective against Ohio State. Michigan State’s Payton Thorne ran for 42 yards against the Buckeyes. Nebraska’s Adrian Martinez scooted for 85 yards and 6.5 yards per carry average.

In three games against the Buckeyes though, Ramsey has carried the ball 27 times for 34 yards.

Pick: Peyton Ramsey under 20.5 yards rushing (-113)

Picks: Garrett Wilson first TD scorer (+490), Justin Fields anytime TD scorer (-210)
