The No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners (7-2 overall, 6-2 Big 12) go for the program’s fourth straight Big 12 title while the No. 6 Iowa State Cyclones (8-2 overall, 8-1 Big 12) look to claim their first outright conference crown since 1912 in the Big 12 Championship Game.

The game kicks off from Arlington Saturday, Dec. 19 at noon ET.

This one is chock full of talent, including Cyclones running back Breece Hall, who is the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. Other standouts including Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy, an All-Big 12 First Team selection and Oklahoma wide receiver Marvin Mims, an All-Big 12 second-teamer.

The Sooners are 5.5.-point favorites against the Cyclones – and for those looking for additional wagering options, the game features numerous interesting props. Let’s analyze some player props and provide our best picks.

Hall Call

One of the guys I love in this spot is Breece Hall. With a week off to freshen up his legs, the sophomore running back from Wichita should have a huge game. In the three games Iowa State has played this season following an idle week, Hall has averaged 158 yards per game on less than 18 carries per game. That’s an almost nine yards per carry, an amazing average.

The conference offensive player of the year was a true bell cow in Iowa State’s critical 37-30 victory over the Sooners earlier this season. He went off to the tune of 139 yards on 28 carries, and scored a pair of touchdowns. The yards per carry average was well below his average off byes, but still a solid five yards per carry.

The pick: Breece Hall Over 108.5 yards (-113)

Rest vs Rust

Hall’s OU counterpart may have a different fate.

While the senior from Las Vegas finished with 141 yards in Bedlam, the Pokes slowed him down in the first half. It was only after the game opened up Stevenson was able to get loose. Then, against Baylor, it was a four-quarter struggle. Stevenson finished with only 50 yards on the ground against the Bears. Now, he faces a hungry Iowa State defense for the first time this season, a unit that wants to make a statement.

Another concern — from a team-wide perspective — is Oklahoma’s lack of recent play. Lincoln Riley’s team has only played one game in the last 27 days heading into kickoff at Jerry World. And the Sooners weren’t super sharp in their past two outings. The additional time away could be a factor.

Hall is the obvious choice to reach the end zone first. As noted above, I expect the Cyclone tailback to have a big game. A sleeper pick in this spot could be Hall.

The junior H-back/tight end scored both receiving touchdowns for the Sooners against the Cyclones in their matchup earlier this season. And with the status of Stogner, OU’s star tight end, uncertain due to injury, there’s even more reason to think the other Hall in this game could score first.

As for players that might score, regardless of timing in the game, both players noted above should get into the end zone. But the guy I love in this spot is Hutchinson.

The Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year only scored four touchdowns over ten games this season. But at +200, he presents great value to bettors.
